Blandford were put into bat on a worn and variable bounce wicket.
We lost our first wicket in the 2nd over when Edward departed for 4 with the score on 6.
The next wicket went in the 5 over when Ronnie was bowled by his nemesis (Ed Pattle) for 8 with the score on 18.
A wicket fell in the next over as Ron departed for 2 and the score on 21.
The very next over saw Domonic leaving the field for 1 bowled by Ed Pattle and the score on 25.
We then lasted for another 3 overs (10th) until Byron departed for 0.
In the 11th over we lost two wickets; Sam chipped the ball nicely back to the bowler and Tristan was bowled by Oscar Moore for 2.
The score board read 37 for 7 off 11 overs. The game was going to be over before 3:15pm!
Simon Bath was c&b by Toby Jeans for 8 leaving the score on 57 in the 14th over.
Sam Bath and J Snape then put on 41 before Sam departed for 8 in the 19th over - the best partnership yet.
J fell for 24 in the 23rd over leaving Pankaj NO on 4.
Ed Pattle with 3 overs, 3 wickets for 10 and Oscar Moore with 3 overs, 3 wickets for 6 were the pick of the Stalbridge bowlers.
We scored 61 with the bat and had 52 extras given. Stalbridge had a target of 114 to win.
Ronnie had the cunning plan of bowling straight and letting the pitch do the work.
Stalbridge started steadily and motored to 95 for 5 off 21 overs - 19 runs off 4 over to win with 5 wickets left. My money was on Stalbridge.
Then on came Pankaj for his third over to concede 2 runs and take 4 wickets: Oscar Moore was bowled with the third ball; Toby Barrat bowled in the next ball; Ed Pattle LBW with the 5th ball; Rich Brown caught in the slip by Sam Bath off the 6th ball.
Suddenly we had a chance with only one wicket to take.
Edward Wates with a faster one, bowled Matt Dunne for 17 in the 23rd over with the score on 105.
An excellent match, turned on its head with the stunning over in the 22nd over by Pankaj.
I think this was our first win in 2 years. Well done J and Pankaj and a good introduction to the game for Sam and Byron.
