In the picturesque setting off Abbotsbury being over looked by St Catherine's Chapel our 2nd XI looked for a positive result as the halfway mark on the season was reached.

Winning the toss on a track that should have yielded plentiful runs we were under the cosh though a tidy bowling performance by Abbotsbury.

Wicket to wicket and no width to work with making shot selection an issue for some .

Knuckling down to show some class, J-Mac made it look easy accumulating 40 runs with a broken bat that was shedding willow throughout his innings. We finished on a below par 157-9

Chickpea Curry and sandwiches at the interval seemed to fire our young pace attack.

Bailey (2-26) bowled gas and had the batsmen jumping around from ball one ably assisted from Ed (2-32) who proved what a great fielder he is with a couple of catches and a direct runout to go with his wickets .

Lord Bath and Freaky both grabbed a couple of wickets before Will Yorukoglu came on for his league bowling debut and snared the last batter leaving Abbotsbury 143 ao.
